Extraction Definition Chemistry -An Introduction
Extraction Definition Chemistry -An IntroductionExtracting helium is an exceptionally challenging science, where the molecules are distorted and harsh mechanical forces may be applied. Hydrogen peroxide molecules can induce the creation of a single molecule that contains negative hydrogen atoms; the hydrogen atom then becomes 'hyperbolic' and becomes the very thing that needs to be extracted from the gas, and this can not be done by any other means. Hydrocarbons can be hydrolysed via physical ion exchange (HIE) and HIE reaction; and gas exchange with H IE reactions are both chemically and thermodynamically preferred.Hydrogen ions have a natural tendency to stick together, and hydrocarbons contain a significant amount of hydrogen; whereupon hydrogen atoms will repel one another and form a bond that restricts the upward mobility of the molecule. When the hydrogen ions and hydrogen atoms are removed from the system, they must be replaced with hydroxide ions. Hydroxide ions are negativel y charged ions and are different in chemical nature from the normal atoms; and this suggests that they can trap molecules. Hydroxide ions bind more tightly than hydrogen ions and once bound, the hydroxide ions to form a solid surface that can not be dislodged by any other means.Hydrogen chloride has very high freezing point, so it is well suited for the use of a cryo-extraction procedure, but is also chemically resistant and therefore can form bonds to various complex mixtures. The use of an inert gas has been advocated as the most suitable method for extraction of helium because it reduces the need for 'interfering materials', such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, or argon. However, this does not take into account the chemical evolution from the primary gas into a compound like that of Hydrogen Peroxide. The most conventional and most effective method for the extraction of helium is by HIE reaction; where gaseous (sub-cooled) helium is transformed into a liquid by ion exchange. HIE Reac tion is ideal for all-liquid environments, and if the system is manufactured by a large scale process this is more cost-effective than cooling the helium in the first place. Another method is used by the rescue services, where they transport helium using a mask to the rescue site by a means that will avoid all de-equilibration of the surrounding atmosphere. This method is practical because it avoids the creation of dangerous gasses such as hydrogen chloride.Of course, a larger scale and better-processed process may be able to extract the helium from water, although these systems are not as cost-effective as those of hydrocarbon reduction. As the water has a much larger volume, the gaseous helium-gas mixture will weigh less than the liquids; which makes them more attractive for recovery from a larger volume of water.A convenient way to carry out HIE and also to maintain the chilled environments is to use cooling towers. In these towers, the heat generated by the cooling of the helium gas is transferred to the liquid and condensed there. Then, the condensed gas is brought to the top of the tower and comes out as the coolant.Extraction Definition Chemistry can be carried out with liquid helium at low pressures; and this provides a simple and cost-effective means for the isolation of the hydrogen-containing helium from the atmosphere. The molecular structure of a helium molecule is a carbon atom connected to an oxygen atom by a hydrogen atom attached on the outside of the atom.Chemical extraction of helium is still a fairly new field, and many methods have not yet been developed; but the scientific community has developed a wide variety of extraction methods. What separates some of these methods from others is their ability to make the liquid helium released by an extractor clean and dense enough to prevent its escaping and mixing with the environment. Other methods for extraction include extraction using fluorine or radioactive substances, including the use of te chnetium, and absorption using fluorine. All of these methods will be developed further in the future.

How to maximise your GCSE maths result
How to maximise your GCSE maths result Maximising your GCSE maths result is essential not only for access to A-Levels but also for university and beyond. While revision is fundamental, so too are several other elements, and it's these that will make all the difference between a low and high mark. You have to have a positive maths mindset Having a positive maths mindset is everything when it comes to maximising your results. If you feel you are innately bad at maths or you don't have a maths brain, then you need to work on changing your view. Nothing will hinder your grade more than having negative thoughts about your ability. Thankfully maths is a subject that rewards hard work. Which means if you revise, practice, and get the support you need (speak to your teacher or a maths tutor) you will get better at it. You need to be practising daily to get ahead Maths revision has to be about more than revising your notes. The practice is critical here, because, unlike other subjects, you need more than a good memory to do well in maths. Past papers are your ticket to practising and a better mark. Start by trying examination questions and papers but ultimately work towards doing these papers in timed conditions. Try to work through them without referring to a revision guide or your notes, as the whole point is to see how much you can remember. With each past paper you do, you are potentially increasing your grade by a small percentage. Also, get into the practice of checking your answers and looking for mistakes that will cost you marks. If you do this every time you do a practice paper, you will become adept at finding these in your actual GCSE paper. Past papers will also help you to identify your areas of weaknesses. Keep a list of these areas handy and practise them over and over until you know them as it's these weaknesses that will stop you from attaining the highest mark possible. You need to revise the whole maths specification Math is a cumulative subject so you can't miss any of the building blocks or you will have gaps that will cost you marks. This means, learn your basic arithmetic to help you will pick up the more advanced concepts. As ever, it's all too easy to work to your strengths, thinking these will make up for the areas you are weak in. However, you need to know how to do it all, so ask for help if you need it. To ensure you cover everything, list every single topic from your maths specification and do practice questions until you feel confident about the topic and sub-topic. Then tick it off your list and move on. Above all remember, it's never too late to tackle concepts you don't understand. A teacher or a maths tutor can help here and potentially help you raise your grade significantly, so do seek them out. If you're looking for more revision tips, look at our blog posts on the Top GCSE Maths Resources and How to pass maths GCSE.

4 Things College Students Can do to be Successful Entrepreneurs
4 Things College Students Can do to be Successful Entrepreneurs Tips From a Costa Mesa College Tutor: 4 Things College Students Can do to be Successful Entrepreneurs As high school seniors are pondering which college or university they would like to attend next year, they should be thinking ahead about the big picture and how they want their college education to help them succeed in the career field of their choice. Emerging graduates are choosing to be entrepreneurs; either theyre starting their own business from scratch or using entrepreneurial skills as part of their contribution to a larger corporation. We are living in a time of innovation, and its important for young entrepreneurs to be efficient and practical as well as creative throughout their careers. Many college students dont even begin to think about their careers until they reach their second semester of senior year. However, its important for underclassmen to start thinking about how they can become a successful entrepreneur now rather than later our private Costa Mesa college tutors are here to help you succeed. 1. Participate in the campus community When students join an organization or even start one of their own, they begin to understand the complexities of building something from the ground up. They have to get people to help them fulfill their vision, refine a mission statement, and compromise with others. Students who spread themselves too thin will find they accomplish almost nothing at all. Participating in a campus organization on a regular basis is an excellent way for students to understand the highs and lows of being an entrepreneur. College is, after all, a place for students to learn what works and what doesnt so they can refine their skills and apply them appropriately once theyre in the working world. 2. Learn the traditional way Students can also gain leadership skills by simply taking a class. They dont have to be majoring in business or entrepreneur skills to take a course on the subject. In fact, a student in any field benefits from what theyll learn in a course on entrepreneurship. Students who arent exactly sure how to get started on their own will find the structure of a traditional learning environment to be comforting and familiar with what theyve been used to the last several years. They will have access to an experienced educator as well as classmates who have similar interests. This is a great place to start for any college student (READ: Irvine Tutoring Tips: 4 Finals Week Pitfalls to Avoid). 3. Student politics Anyone who has served in student government will know that people skills are essential. To be an entrepreneur, learning how to get along with different personality types is just the beginning. Young entrepreneurs need to rally investors to their product or service and advertise their product on what will likely be a very low budget. Students can learn these things ahead of time by participating in any form of student politics while on campus. Many of the people skills students need in the future will be learned, likely through trial and error, in a safe and supportive environment. 4. Start a side business Many new entrepreneurs start out by testing their skills on a small side business. Whether theyre providing a physical product or an intangible service, students learn a ton by running their own small business. They might be improving upon something that already exists or inventing something out of thin air, either way, students will gain valuable skills they can use after graduation. The business might be related to something that specifically benefits college students, it could be something that is supported by the college through an official organization, or it might be something separate from the studentâs academic life. College finals will be starting in a few weeks. Make sure youre prepared to end the year on a high note with the help of our Costa Mesa college tutoring. Call TutorNerds today for more information. Public Speaking and the Value of Singing Lessons
Public Speaking and the Value of Singing Lessons Suzy S. Most students taking singing lessons have aspirations of getting up on stage, whether that be for a recital, audition, or maybe just to survive karaoke night. However, voice lessons can be especially valuable for public speakers, as well. Just as the vocalist practices breath control, inflections and dynamics, public speakers can also benefit from vocal exercises. Singing or voice lessons can also help a ton with your stage presence and confidence! You may not think about warming up before speaking in front of groups, but it can make a huge difference in your delivery, clarity, volume and vocal strength, if you know just what to focus on. Breathing exercises in particular are a great thing to practice, as they can help with your vocal control (as well as ease stress!). Here are some steps to follow to check your breathing: Get into a comfortable position, whether this is standing, sitting or lying down. Place of your hands on your chest, and the other on your abdomen. As you take a deep breath, focus on where your hands are: the hand on your abdomen should rise higher than the one on your chest, which occurs when your diaphragm pulls airs into your lungs. Exhale through your mouth, and then inhale again through your nose, this time holding it for as long as you are able to comfortably. Exhale again slowly through your mouth. Contract your abdominal muscles one final time to expel any remaining air. Repeat this exercise a few more times, focusing on each inhale and exhale. As you get comfortable with the exercise, you can practice without the aid of your hands. Once you get used to this style of natural breathing, youll have better breath and voice control, which helps with all aspects of speaking and singing. Looking for speaking voice lessons near you? Top Tips for Combating the Back-to-School Blues
Top Tips for Combating the Back-to-School Blues This post is part of our 2017 Back-to-School Series. Throughout the month of August, visit the Varsity Tutors blog for back-to-school advice, tips, and tricks for all ages. Having to gear up for a return to hard work and saying goodbye to the nice weather and relaxation of summer is enough to make anyone sad. If your children are feeling down or are having some anxiety about heading back to school this year, dont fret! Tips for combating the back-to-school blues include encouraging students to reconnect with friends, helping them prepare for their new schedule, and promoting positive thinking as school begins. Remember, the back-to-school blues are entirely normal and can be alleviated with a little time, re-framing, and some thoughtful preparation. Here are top tips for combating the back-to-school blues: 1. Tackle back-to-school shopping together Recruit your children to come with you when you do their back-to-school shopping. Not only will they get the chance to choose new clothes and to personalize their supplies, its also an easy way to introduce them to finances. Set a budget for their school supplies and clothing, and help them learn to prioritize by balancing the things they really want with savings elsewhere. You can even suggest that overall savings at the end of the shopping trip go toward a treat. Creating a sense of ownership over school notebooks, personal style, and locker decorations can go a long way toward building enthusiasm for the new school year. 2. Reconnect with school friends when going back to school Sometimes summer break can interrupt school friendships, especially if those students live farther away, or your children never got around to hanging out with that person outside of the classroom. Encourage them to get in contact with friends theyre going to see again at school, and to organize a playdate or get-together of some kind. Even just emailing to compare schedules or classroom assignments can help to relieve some anxiety about going back to school. 3. Prep for the new back-to-school schedule Start getting your children prepared for the shock of a more rigid schedule by slowly setting earlier bedtimes, wake-up times, and perhaps even doing a run-through of the morning routine. To help your student feel more comfortable, you can also: Visit the school Check out the new classroom Get a feel for the layout of the building or the schedule of classes. If teachers are around, meet them ahead of time. Familiarity with the new routine and surroundings will help decrease anxiety and stress on the first day. [RELATED: Tips for Helping Children Change Schools] 4. Talk through more serious back-to-school concerns Its also important to make sure that the back-to-school blues are just normal anxieties about the future, or sadness that summer is over. Talk to your children about why theyre feeling a little down about returning, and listen for signs of more serious concerns like bullying or social isolation that could be causing your children to dread returning. Talk through normal anxieties and try to reframe them by reminding students of fun things or successes that happened last year. If you sense that your students have a deeper reason for not wanting to go back, talk to them about it, and create a plan for them that is communicated with any teachers (and even administrators, if appropriate). [RELATED: 5 Questions to Ask Your Students New Teacher] 5. Make plans for summer in the fall to combat back-to-school blues Oftentimes, back-to-school blues happen simply because your children had so much fun over the summer. Work with them to make plans for summertime fun even after school has started: family outings, trips to the ice cream stand, unstructured get-togethers with friends, or hikes and other outdoor activities. Just because school has started doesnt mean its suddenly the dead of winter, or that every free moment must be dedicated to homework. Plan something for the first weekend after school starts to help ease the transition. 6. Fight down in the dumps back-to-school thinking If your children are making blanket declarations about how school is constantly the worst, remind them of times theyve had fun with a school project, a new teacher they like, or events like school dances that dont happen during the summer that they can look forward to. It can also help to remind them of some of the less fun things about summer, like mosquito bites, boredom, or sibling fights that theyll be able to avoid once theyre back in school. With a little foresight and preparation, helping your children find ways to look forward to a new school year is easily accomplished. Re-frame the return with new school supplies, reminders of good friends, accomplishments, and fun, and you can most likely count on at least one smile for that first-day photograph. The 10 Most Difficult Piano Pieces
The 10 Most Difficult Piano Pieces What are the Hardest Piano Pieces to Play? ChaptersClassical music and its virtuoso piecesPop music and how difficulty serves successTackle the harder pieces to learn the pianoWhen you begin piano lessons, most of the time the goal is of the course is to progress as quickly and as well as possible. You want to acquire the strongest bases, to then go on playing the pieces that you like. And let's be clear, most pianists are looking to play the songs they've heard and would like to remake, or just a legendary melody, to do just like the best pianists. But the pianist has an ego and pride. To prove he is worthy, he will also go for difficult pieces, even very difficult. They don't necessarily fit his personal tastes. But they will give a status, a rank, to the one who plays them. What's on your repertoire? These difficult pieces can be categorized in different ways in the world of the piano. In order to give a sympathetic side to this article, we will go through classic pieces, and varieties, known or unknown. And you'll see that aft erwards, you will inevitably go to your keyboard to learn one, or even all.By reading this article, you will understand better how to become a piano virtuoso!Join the discussion: who do you think are the best pianists in the world? Will you become a virtuoso pianist? | Pedro Vezini via Visual HuntThere is often a tendency to say that the classical music pieces composed by the best pianists in the world are the most difficult to play. Fortunately, many classical pieces are also used for learning the piano. But of course, some justify this reputation.Symphony No. 5 by Beethoven (1804-1808)A legendary piece, composed by a genius musician. You have probably already heard these notes in the films The Longest Day or Saturday Night Fever.Composed of four movements (Allegro con Brio, Andante con moto, Scherzo, and the Finale), and lasting approximately forty minutes, the fifth symphony of Beethoven is one of the Austrian's masterpieces. For the anecdote, the music was composed during the Napol eonic wars, while Austria was invaded by France. As for Beethoven, then in his thirties, he is more and more affected by deafness.A few years later, this symphony was designated as a reference work, and one of the most popular of classical music.Beethoven inspired many artists. John Travolta can testify.Piano Sonata No. 18 in D major (W.A Mozart)There is no need to introduce Mozart, considered by many to be the greatest virtuoso in the history of the piano.Because of his precocity, and also because of the difficulty and complexity of his compositions. (who doesn't recognize his famous enchanted flute, opera of more than two hours long).Mozart's piano sonatas are among the most difficult to play. And the n °18 offers an impressive technical panel. Variations of rhythms, changes of fingering and speed. One can clearly say that he is a pianist with great capacities when he masters the Mozart sonatas, and more particularly the n °18.Discover the long history of the piano...The Bolero by Ma urice Ravel (1928)Undoubtedly one of the most beautiful ballets of the XXth Century. Again, you probably heard this music from the AGF Insurance ad in the early 2000s. A beautiful and catchy melody, lasting about 15 minutes. The melody repeats itself regularly during the piece, but variations in crescendo and orchestration give this singular work an original, even unique aspect. So unique that it is to this day the most played ballet piece in the world's great operas since the 1930s, and even at events such as the 1998 World Cup or the closing ceremony of the Sochi Olympics in 2014.The Toccata in D Minor by J.S Bach (1703-1707)Everyone has already heard this music, the reference music written for the organs by Bach. Built in three episodes, it took four years to be written. Controversies ran around it at the beginning, the sulfurous composer Ringck and then Kelliner claiming its origin, but it is ultimately attributed to Bach when he was young.Very quickly returned to popular culture, the XXth gives a timeless aspect to this piece. He is taken to the cinema in Fantasia, Twenty Thousands Leagues under the Sea, The Godfather or even Aviator and Pirates of the Caribbean. The first notes entered history, and a melody as beautiful as that is difficult with accelerations and piano adaptation.Pop music and how difficulty serves successPop songs are part of musical culture. And contrarily to what one can sometimes think, commercial music can be very difficult and can serve as a basis for piano lessons. And require technical aptitudes essential to pianist.Diego, by Michel Berger (1983)In France, Michel Berger is a reference in piano and musical creation. We owe him a very large number of great hits. He wrote songs for himself, but also for the other musicians. And if we had to come out with a song that represents the composer's genius, Diego is the perfect example.A perfectly lapped melody, with the chords linked with fluidity. A difficult song not technically, but in the m anagement of the rhythms and emotions. A real complete piece for playing or learning to play the piano, which is very difficult to make as beautiful as the original piece played by Michel Berger.Find out how, through piano lessons online, Superprof tutors can help you master the depth of emotion the instrument can reflect.Life on Mars by David Bowie (1971)What about this song, which took a new path with the death of David Bowie in 2016. One of his greatest successes is built on a simple piano melody, but of rare intensity.Although it can be considered repetitive, this music (much like that of Michel Berger) is based on intensity, on raising the crescendo intensity.Which gives in the end a cult melody, of which it is difficult to transcribe the emotion. A certain time of practice of the piano is necessary since this music is difficult to play. The greatest artists of the twentieth century were pianists of high level. David Bowie is an example.Georgia On My Mind by Ray Charles (1960)Pi anists who are interested in the musical culture around their instrument know that jazz is a genre apart. It's not given to everybody to be able to play it. And Ray Charles is probably the greatest virtuoso in this field. And not just because he was blind. His music is complete, timeless, and also very difficult to transcribe. This is one of Ray Charles's most outstanding romantic pieces. The difficulty in this piece lies not in the rhythm, but in the melody itself. To play this piece, you must feel it, understand it. And to be well aware of the meaning and the words. At Ray Charles, the two are related. That is the difficulty.Great and difficult movie musicWhile they have taken on a new dimension in recent years, counting just as much as the movies in which they pass, movie scores must, of course, be on this list. They are technically of a very high level and require considerable pianistic capacities. This is not suitable for early piano lessons.People get very excited about playing th e piano when listening to these songs, so the goal is to work on learning the piano to get to play these pieces as quickly as possible.Find the best tutorials for learning the piano! The songs in the Aristocats are mythical! Have you not tried to learn them on the piano?Comptine d'un autre été (Yann Tiersen)No one has forgotten this piano-accordion melody of one of the most popular french films of the early 2000s : Amélie. And this melody composed by one of the best pianists of the world Yann Tiersen is very difficult for a particular reason: it is a piece for a left-handed person. And since 75% of pianists are right-handed, this piece takes on a new dimension. It requires a particular fingering training to be able to adapt to this piece. The difficulty of playing a piece for left-handed and the speed of this piece make it doubly difficult. For a piece that remains beautiful, and that I advise.Fly (Untouchable, by Ludovico Einaudi)We all shed our little tears while listening to this sublime music. A relatively fast and very rhythmic melody. This piece requires considerable dexterity and a relatively soft feel. It is obviously not given to everyone. It is a music based on speed, arpeggios and chords. But all in the emotion and sweetness of a very loud piece, and that will remain like a great moment of cinema music. Music plays a lot on the success of a movie. Untouchables proves it.Interstellar soundstrack (Hans Zimmer)Ah, the master Hans Zimmer. Worthy successor to John Williams, this German is THE reference in movie music. And the least that can be said is that with the soundtrack of Interstellar, he gave it all he had. A lengthly song, with rhythmic and melodic accelerations. It is an all-powerful and all-crescendo piece. As in a lot of music by Hans Zimmer, the song's basis is not technically very hard. It is the rhythmic changes and variations of sound that make this piece a model of movie scores. The piano is a prestigious instrument so honor it!Tackle the har der pieces to learn the pianoPlaying the piano with challenging pieces helps you to learn your musical limits. And above all, it is the opportunity to progress quickly by playing the piano. Here, no music school or music theory, nor arpeggio!
